The Cale Guest House provided an excellent experience during my recent business trip. The staff were really good in their assistance, promptly providing additional bathroom supplies when needed. The room was comfortable for resting after long working hours. Breakfast offered a wide selection, with freshly squeezed orange juice, which enhanced the overall enjoyment of my stay. Its central location made it easy to access key business areas and local attractions.

The room featured substantial natural light and comfortable wooden shutters. Breakfast included fresh juices.
In some rooms, the noise from the main street is noticeable, and the decor feels a bit stark and run-down, particularly in higher floors that lack charm.

The location of Cale Guest is terrific. It's just a few blocks from the Metro and also from the river, where there is much to do and see. The owners were so welcoming, offering us conversation and a glass of porto on our arrival. We were also trated very specail by their lovely assistant, who served us breakfast each morning. The guest house is newly renovated and the rooms are very spacious and smartly decorated. We will highly recommend Cale Guest House to anyone traveling to Porto, wanting to stay in the Historic Old Town.
We stayed on a high floor, our preference, and there is no elevator. If you have trouble with stairs you may want to ask for a room on a lower floor. Only observation that could use some attention are the wood floors in our room, very beautiful I may add, but very noisey when walking accross the floor. Maybe some baby powder could stop the noise.

The location was wonderful.
There was a bit of noise from the traffic in the room in the front of the building. I would request a room in the back.

The property is fantastic--perfectly located near (but not on) the water, with lovely views the city. The rooms were spacious, well furnished, super-clean. Jorge was the BEST--a tour guide, trip advisor, entertainer, and all-around problem solver. The owner, Eltelvina, showed up often and was warm and friendly as well. It was clear the goal of owners and staff was to give a great experience to their guests--and they did! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, we're hoping a good review doesn't mean there's no room the next time we're in Porto! It's hard to imagine being as happy elsewhere after our experience at Cale Guest House. Obrigado, Jorge and Etelvina
